Sumac is a spice that comes from ground Sumac berries of the Rhus Coriaria plant from Iran.
Sumac is well-known due to its color and tangy flavour.
Scientists found that Sumac is a super antioxidant and enriched with vitamin C. It helps patients ward off diabetes, cardiovascular disease and cancer. Moreover, it is Anti-inflammatory and helps in disorders caused abdominal discomfort. Studies have also shown that Sumac regulates HDL vs LDL and balances cholesterol level in patients with diabetes type II. Sumac is Anti-microbial and Anti-fungal and widely used among people suffering from fungus infection to treat skin inflammation and disorders. It has also been studied for fighting with bacterial infection like Salmonella in body.
Sumac is traditionally used as a breast milk booster and menstrual cramps relief for women.
